ALUMINUM CAN PULL TABS FOR RMH On May 20th Retread Rich Lang (a.k.a. the T-shirt Guy) presented Tucson's Ronald McDonald House with 3.27 pounds of aluminum can pull tabs. House Manager Matt Hitchcock was very appreciative and wrote the Club a thank you note stating that "The money realized from the recycled tabs will be added to the general operations fund. It will help to pay the utility bills and buy necessary supplies for the house. We are so pleased to have you as a member of the Ronald McDonald House family. We appreciate your continued support of the house and your belief in our mission." Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), an organization known for housing seriously-ill children and their families, also funds mobile clinics, suicide prevention efforts and scholarships. In a Jan. 2003 article entitled "To Give Well, Give Wisely," Worth Magazine chose RMHC as one of the 13 top national health organizations most deserving of philanthropic support from a pool of more than 850,000 organizations in the U.S. Please save your aluminum can pull tabs throughout the summer and then bring them to the October 2003 Retreads meeting for Rich Lang to collect and present to RMHC on behalf of the Tucson Retreads. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated! John K
